The Aero L-39 Albatros is a legendary two-seater military jet developed in the 1960s, originally designed for fighter pilot training. To this day, it remains admired for its reliability, agility, and performance. During the flight, you’ll experience the sensation of sitting in a real jet cockpit, feeling the accelerations and G-forces from various maneuvers, such as loops, rolls, and sharp turns. Under the careful guidance of an experienced pilot, you’ll even have the chance to take control and try piloting yourself.
The Beauty of the Dolomites from Above
The Dolomites are part of the Southern Limestone Alps, known for their unique geological composition and spectacular landscapes. From the air, you’ll see endless mountain ranges, deep valleys, and picturesque mountain lakes. Famous peaks, such as Marmolada, the highest peak of the Dolomites, and Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the iconic three peaks symbolizing the region, will be visible, along with other natural landmarks. Flying over this area will allow you to experience the beauty of nature in a way that words cannot describe.

Take Control of the L-39 Albatros Yourself!
Aerobatic flight may look beautiful and interesting at air shows, but in real air combat, it has a life-saving purpose. Military pilots from all air forces around the world train in maneuvers like loops, rolls, Immelmann, Split-S, inverted flight, and more to become familiar with the aircraft’s capabilities in real dogfights. Xsport clients can experience this thrilling military aerobatic ride themselves in the cockpit – the limits set are based on the G-forces you and the pilot can tolerate, not the aircraft’s limitations.
The Aero L-39 is very forgiving for beginners, and the instructor, seated in the elevated rear cockpit, used as a passenger seat, has an excellent view of the flight and surroundings. Like all trainer aircraft, it has full dual controls, allowing you to take over and control the aircraft during part of the flight.
If you want to take things into your own hands, with Xsport, you're on the right path to making your dreams come true. After adequate training and a flight briefing, you’ll have the chance to take control of the L-39 and even perform some aerobatics. And all this with a real military jet – at thrilling speeds!
Customized Flight Program
The client’s preferences are the main focus during all flights, so the pilot will always try to determine what you’re looking for and how much G-force you’re able and willing to endure. The flight program is then tailored to your needs and can be adjusted mid-flight. You will not only see fantastic scenery but also experience numerous aerobatic maneuvers.
Including preparations, briefing/discussion about your personal flight program, safety briefing, and cockpit training – plan around 3-4 hours at the location. Usually followed by a relaxed drink with the pilot afterward.
Your L-39 Flight Day
Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll meet your pilot. After introductions, you’ll head to the briefing room, where you’ll have time to talk with the pilot about the aircraft and flight program details. Together, you’ll determine how the program should look – whether a calm "scenic flight" or an action-packed "dogfight" program. The pilot will follow your preferences as much as possible. A comprehensive explanation of the cockpit’s safety systems follows, after which you’ll be provided with a flight suit and helmet. Then, we proceed to the airfield, where the technicians are already preparing the aircraft for takeoff. Once seated in the cockpit, the ground crew will further check and tighten your straps. The pilot will once again explain the safety systems and the essential cockpit instruments. After testing the "Intracom" system, we wait for takeoff clearance, and off we go. In the air, you’ll have the opportunity to control the aircraft yourself and perform maneuvers, such as loops and rolls.
The complete program includes the following maneuvers:
- Rolls
- Immelmann
- Loops
- Split-S
- Climbs
- Dives
- Tail Chase
After landing, you’ll have the opportunity for commemorative photos with your pilot in and in front of the aircraft. You’ll also receive a certificate for flying in a military jet and performing maneuvers. Afterward, enjoy a drink and celebrate this fantastic experience with your companions.
